WCC BRIEF HISTORY 

Word Community Church (WCC) was birthed in 1997. Its beginnings traces back to Word for the World Greenhills, an expansion of Word for the World Makati under the Church of God denomination. With the Rev. Agustin Lising at the helm as its Senior Pastor, Word for the World Greenhills began its regular Sunday worship services at the Greenhills Theater in San Juan while office operations were in Makati. 

From an initial of 60 to 80 people, attendance steadily grew that by July and August of 1989, three new services had to open in addition to the 9am service at Greenhills Theater –-- (10am English service, 2pm Tagalog service and 5pm service for artists) all these new gathering happening at the Medecor Building along Ortigas Avenue. Medecor eventually became the center for worship and office activities. 

By January of 1997 a significant turn took place. God laid a fresh vision among the hearts of the pastors and its top leadership. In pursuit of that vision, the majority of the church courageously stepped onto a new direction and established Word Community Church. 

For the ensuing years the church grew in attracting more people coming to join in worshipping God with a fresh vision under its wings. The cornerstone was to establish a church that would live out the gospel through community life in small groups and with a central commitment to knowing and loving Christ, being transformed into His likeness and reaching the world for Jesus. 

On February 25, 2001 the lease at Greenhills Theater expired and the church had to move to a new venue for its worship services. The church Sunday gathering then transferred to Valle Verde Country Club in Pasig City. Likewise, the church office relocated from Medecor Building to Eisenhower Street, San Juan. 

On October 2004, another move took place transferring the gathering venue to a location at 352 Captain Henry Javier Street, Bgy. Oranbo, Pasig City, a few meters on the same street south of Valle Verde Country Club. 

Today, Word Community Church holds three services – 8am, 10am and 5pm vitally pursuing the breath of the mission it was born from. With communities of small groups and ministries committed to pursue its God-given vision, it is a church that exist for PASSION for GOD, for CONNECTING IN COMMUNITY and for COMPASSION for MAN.
